STUDENT SUPPORT

Experiential learning is the technique of learning through experience. John Bestebroer believes that this is one of the best ways to acquire new knowledge and skills. That's why he supports students in sports by giving presentations and developing unique projects. By experimenting, exploring, discovering, and experiencing, students expand their knowledge and expertise in various areas. This enables them to learn faster and better cope with life's ups and downs.

John Bestebroer would like to see more young people become active and involved in decision-making positions within sports organizations.

PRESENTATIONS

John Bestebroer has given presentations to students in various countries over the past 15 years. His presentations at universities and colleges are memorable, not only for the humor with which he shares his stories and the way he presents unique photos and short films, but also because he speaks the language of his students. He doesn't lecture or repeat endless passages, but rather challenges students by delivering trigger questions and trying to give them eye-openers. The enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of his presentations are what many students appreciate and remember. Some students still contact John Bestebroer, after they finish their (sport)studies.

In addition to presentations for students, John Bestebroer also gives presentations for the business community.

Some of the topics of the presentations that John has been given over the years are;

PROJECTS

By setting up Paralympic sport projects, remarkable results have been achieved. By tackling various challenges in a short time, much has been learned and new, lasting connections have been made in various countries.

Students were given the opportunity to be involved in several projects from the very beginning. For example, short projects were done during the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Vancouver-Canada, the 2011 Para Pan Am Games in Guadalajara-Mexico, the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in London-England, and during the 2014 Sitting Volleyball World Championships in Elblag-Poland.

After these projects, the students were doing a presentation about the project they were involved and were sharing their experiences with their fellow students.
